Easy Peasy Ebook Creation

So you want to create an ebook as a free resource and don’t know where to start?

It’s a lot simpler then you think. You just need a few tools and start taking action!

You can use any one of these free tools to begin the magic:

1. Google Docs – found in google drive, if you have a gmail, you have drive folder. Look for the 9 dots top right when logged into gmail.
2. Open Office (Writer) – free to download, works like microsoft word program. (openoffice.org)
3. Pages (for mac/ipad) – download the app

Any one of these programs will work

From here the concept is simple.

Write your content like you would a book.
Use 12pt or 14pt font size.
Select a good font style like Helvetica or Trebuchet MS.
Double space for easy reading.

Next…
Add supportive pictures in the appropriate places.
(You can use free image resources like pexels.com or morguefile.com to find pictures for your ebook)

When you’ve double checked your spelling and grammar thoroughly (because people will point out errors – trust me), then you’re ready to convert it to a PDF.

Converting to PDF
1. In google docs, you can export it to PDF.
2. In Open Office you can click on the PDF button in your menu to quick convert or select FILE >> Export to PDF.
3. In pages, Select Export >> PDF

That’s all there is to it.

The content, of course is up to you! You can add a cover image, last page cover, index, citations, references, copyright or any other additional content too.

Have fun and don’t forget, once you’re done your ebook, I’d love to help share it! Drop me an email and let me know the link where people can sign up for it.
